Holiness is the most terrifying thing I can think of. It means a departure from what we have been brainwashed into thinking is normal. A departure from the sins and vices we are so enamored of. Stepping beyond those is both exhilirating and terrible, and most of us are too cowardly to embrace holiness for this reason.
These thoughts aren't original or particularly poignant. I suppose that's what this thing is for.
